Belarus takes part in HKTDC Food Expo in Hong Kong
MINSK, 15 August (BelTA) – Belarusian manufacturers are featured at HKTDC Food Expo, the annual food and beverage exhibition held each summer in Hong Kong, China. The exposition titled as Belarus. Taste of Nature was put together by the Belinterexpo company of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, BelTA learned from the company.
Consul General of Belarus in Hong Kong Tatiana Kharlap attended the opening ceremony.
Among the guests of honor who visited the Belarusian exposition as part of the presentation tour were the director general of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the deputy chairman of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries.
Every year Hong Kong, one of the world’s leading trade and financial centers, hosts hundreds of exhibitors for HKTDC Food Expo.
The exhibition provides unique opportunities for demonstration and tasting of food from all corners of the world.
The exhibition will feature large-scale country pavilions of Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Mexico, provinces and regions of mainland China, including Fujian, Guizhou, Hunan, Sichuan, and Zhejiang. Other locations will showcase European countries, including the Republic of Belarus.
Hong Kong is the 54th largest market for Belarusian goods. Dairy products, meat and edible poultry by-products are in special demand.
“Belarusian trade and economic presence in the market of the People’s Republic of China have been gaining a foothold, with the geography of cooperation of domestic producers with Chinese representatives and companies expanding and attracting new partners to a mutually beneficial dialogue,” said Natalya Kurash, Director of Belinterexpo of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The exposition Belarus. The Taste of Nature exposition will feature four Belarusian companies at the HKTDC Food Expo.
A wide assortment of condensed milk, which is a favorite in China, is presented by Glubokoye Dairy Canning Plant. The products on display also include butter, cheese, milk powder and dietary products.
Primemilk is exhibiting milk and fat concentrates, cream substitute, demineralized dry milk whey and soft cheeses.
Slonim Meat Processing Plant, one of the leaders of the meat processing industry in Belarus, has brought sausages, canned meat, beef and meat delicacies to Hong Kong.
Grodno Meat-Packing Plant, the largest integrated meat processing enterprise in Belarus, is displaying a wide range of sausages, including those made according to a special recipe to meet the taste preferences in the People’s Republic of China.
The international part of HKTDC Food Expo will be running until 17 August. Belarusian representatives are expected to take part in a range of business events.
The participation of Belarusian manufacturers in the Hong Kong exhibition is the result of comprehensive work to promote Belarusian products and organize the upcoming national exposition at the seventh China International Import Expo (CIIE), which will be held in Shanghai on 5-10 November 2024.
