Lukashenko: Great deeds can be accomplished in Vitebsk Oblast
POLOTSK, 8 November (BelTA) – Great deeds can be accomplished in Vitebsk Oblast. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the statement as he delivered a speech during the Vitebsk Oblast harvest festival Dazhynki 2024 in Polotsk on 8 November, BelTA has learned.
Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “As I was presenting government awards for the 1,001st time, I thought that the people had come from all the districts. Even from the northernmost one. And these are people from the best agricultural enterprises. It means that every district – the northernmost one, the southernmost one, and so on – has agricultural enterprises that can act as examples, as beacons for others. It means that it is possible to work. It is only necessary to repeat their practices.”
A similar situation is observed in other regions. The head of state visited OAO Parokhonskoye in Brest Oblast in October. This enterprise is a leader in the Polesie area and its practices are now being replicated all over the oblast. The president believes that Vitebsk Oblast should do the same.
“It is necessary to always proceed from land. We should embrace the methods that are useful for the land, that are proven in practice. We don’t need any cosmic goals and thoughts. Those are very hard. Those can be accomplished only by countries with a lot of money and not even they are always successful,” Aleksandr Lukashenko noted. “This is why as we proceed from the land and see gifts of nature, see what we can grow here, we can accomplish great deeds. I would very much like our Vitebsk Oblast… I am not going to be pompous and say ‘flourish’. I would very much like smiling people to live here. So that they would wear smiles on their faces and joy in their souls.”
The president once again underlined that Belarusian agrarians are genuine patriots. Whatever may happen in the country, they always keep working and doing everything they can for the motherland. “What we haven’t done we will do within the next 2-3 years. And you will see it. Including in Vitebsk Oblast,” the Belarusian leader summarized.
