Belarusian ambassador meets with Russian deputy minister of foreign affairs

MOSCOW, 15 August (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Aleksandr Rogozhnik met with Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mikhail Galuzin, the press service of the Belarusian diplomatic mission told BelTA.
Aleksandr Rogozhnik and Mikhail Galuzin discussed a broad range of matters on the bilateral agenda, including forthcoming top and high-level events. Progress was reviewed in preparing and the coming into force of a number of momentous bilateral documents, which are supposed to be signed ahead of the 25th anniversary of the Treaty on the Establishment of the Union State of Belarus and Russia. The parties exchanged opinions regarding the process of expansion of Belarus’ diplomatic presence in Russia’s regions.
The Belarusian ambassador drew attention to matters of interest for Belarusian and Russian citizens, in particular, border control and customs control at airports, the shortage of tickets for trains that shuttle between the two countries.
In the context of the forthcoming celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 the parties discussed possible joint events and looked into other matters concerning joint work on preserving the historical truth. Interaction in integration bodies was touched upon. Attention was paid to the problems involved in creating a mass media company of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, the embassy’s press service said.
