Boki: State award adds motivation to strive for new heights

MINSK, 17 September (BelTA) – A state award adds motivation to strive for new sporting heights, said Ihar Boki, a Belarusian Paralympic swimmer, member of the national team for disabled sports, who was awarded the Order of the Fatherland 2nd Class on 17 September, BelTA has learned.

He received this order for achieving high results in sport and for a great personal contribution to physical culture and sport.

“Olympic victories show the younger generation that it is absolutely possible to win the Olympic and Paralympic Games and this motivates them to work harder and take up sport. Sport is what makes a nation healthy,” the athlete said.

“I am very glad that the state values our achievements so much. Of course, it is nice. And I would like to congratulate everyone on such a beautiful and important holiday as the Day of People’s Unity. My motivation never wanes — I want to test and find out my limits in sport. And I am convinced that the state award will only add motivation to me. I cannot promise or predict results and medals, but I will try to perform better in every competition,” Ihar Boki emphasized.
