CIS states to step up cooperation in physical training, sport
MINSK, 11 July (BelTA) – A session of the expert group in charge of reconciling the draft statement of the ministers of foreign affairs of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States on cooperation in the field of physical training and sport took place in the headquarters of the Commonwealth of Independent States on 10 July, BelTA has learned.
The experts polished the document and agreed it as a whole. They decided to forward it for consideration at the next session of the CIS Foreign Ministers Council according to the established procedure.
The draft statement draws attention to the special significance of the dialogue about matters of international sport cooperation, the role of sport as a unique tool for advancing and reinforcing social and economic ties, for building mutually beneficial communication, for reinforcing interstate relations in the spirit of peace and good neighborhood. The document emphasizes that sport is an inalienable human right of unconditional, universal, and mass nature. The document also mentions the importance of interaction of the CIS states within the framework of the council for physical training and sport.
