CIS economies demonstrate high growth rates
GRODNO, 6 September (BelTA) – The 80th anniversary of Grodno Oblast is a holiday that has a political background. The event that took place 80 years ago marked the reunification of the Belarusian people and the restoration of Belarus’ territorial integrity. The international economic forum, held on this festive day, is a strong evidence of Grodno Oblast’s success on this common path, CIS First Deputy Secretary General Leonid Anfimov said at the international economic forum organized by the Grodno City Executive Committee and the Grodno Office of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, BelTA has learned.
On behalf of the CIS Executive Committee Leonid Anfimov congratulated all the participants of the forum on this significant holiday. He noted that this holiday of the whole Belarusian people is closely connected with the People’s Unity Day.
Speaking about the results achieved by the CIS countries in 2023 and so far this year, Leonid Anfimov emphasized that nowadays the economies of the CIS countries demonstrate high growth rates practically by all indicators. He also drew attention to the fact that cooperation between the CIS member states still has a great potential for growth. Everything in place to get higher growth rates. According to him, there is still much to be done to further boost manufacturing cooperation. Leonid Anfimov cited Belarus-Russia cooperation as an example of living under sanctions.
Taking part in the forum are representatives of the diplomatic corps of Russia, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, India, Iran, Zimbabwe, Palestine as well as guests from Grodno’s twinned cities, representatives of the private sector of the Russian Federation, China, Azerbaijan, and Türkiye.
