MINSK, 8 July (BelTA) – Agriculture and Food Minister Anatoly Linevich told the ONT TV channel about the promotion of smart agriculture in Belarus, BelTA has learned.
“Belarus uses new technologies. Precision agriculture and precision livestock farming technologies have already been introduced at many large, solid agricultural enterprises. These technologies help analyze all processes. The automated information system (AIS) program does automatic calculations in livestock farming. There are a number of other programs that help seed inspectorates work on plant varieties. This creates a framework to use these seeds,” said Anatoly Linevich.
According to him, this process is continuous. “Of course, I would like the majority of farms to switch to new technologies finally. They are doing it by and large, but the pace is not adequate. Much remains to be done in order to introduce them,” the minister noted.
