Olympics 2024: Belarus’ Trushkina to compete for 200m canoe sprint semifinal spot
MINSK, 8 August (BelTA) – Yuliya Trishkina of Belarus will compete for a spot in the women’s 200m canoe sprint semifinal at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics, BelTA has learned.
A total of 33 athletes will compete in five heats, with Yuliya Trushkina making part of Heat 2. The Belarusian’s rivals will be canoeists from Chile, Colombia, China, the USA, Moldova and Ukraine. The two fastest athletes will advance to the semifinal, the rest will compete in the quarterfinals.
This season Yuliya Trushkina secured victory in the discipline at the 2024 Canoe Sprint European Olympic Qualifier and also clinched bronze at the 2024 ECA Canoe Sprint European Championships in Hungary.
