Outgoing ambassador vows to continue promoting Belarus-China friendship
MINSK, 7 September (BelTA) – Belarus and China are busy stepping up interaction across the board. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Xie Xiaoyong mentioned it during a friendly party held in Minsk on 6 September on the occasion of the end of the ambassador’s diplomatic mission in Belarus, BelTA has learned.
Xie Xiaoyong noted: “The four unforgettable years of my work in Minsk flew by in the blink of an eye. During this period I deeply felt a good attitude to China and active support for my work on the part of the Belarusian government and all the circles of the Belarusian society. Together we’ve witnessed how relations between the two countries made a historic leap. Over the last four years political mutual trust between the two countries grew stronger all the time and the diplomacy of the heads of state played a strategic leading role.”
He also pointed out: “China President Xi Jinping and Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko maintain tight contacts and have held four bilateral meetings in a row while at the helm of development of relations between the two countries. Thanks to the common care of the leaders of the two countries and thanks to joint efforts of both sides Belarusian-Chinese relations have improved their quality and their level. Relations of all-weather and all-round strategic partnership have been established between the countries. Seventeen years later the prime minister of the State Council of China once again visited Belarus. The visit gave a new impulse to further realization of the agreements reached by the two heads of state and to the promotion of profound development of pragmatic cooperation between the two countries.”
Xie Xiaoyong noted he is parting with Belarus with sadness. “Wherever I may be in the future, I will continue doing my best to advance Chinese-Belarusian friendship,” the diplomat assured.
“I’d like to use the occasion to thank the government and representatives of various circles of Belarus, colleagues from the diplomatic corps accredited in Belarus, companies with a share of Chinese capital, Chinese students in Belarus and Chinese compatriots as well as the entire team of the Embassy of China in Belarus. The accomplishments I have secured in my line of work over the last four years are inseparable from your understanding and support,” the diplomat stressed.
He remarked that genuine friends are close even if they are far away from each other. “I will always remember Belarus and treasure the friendship with the Belarusian nation. I wish prosperity and might to Belarus and happiness and wellbeing to the Belarusian nation. May Chinese-Belarusian mutually beneficial cooperation and traditional friendship grow stronger all the time!” Xie Xiaoyong wished at the end.
