MOSCOW, 1 August (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko and President of Russia Vladimir Putin are connected by strong friendship, BelTA learned from Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov.
Dmitry Peskov stated that relations between leaders of the two countries had evolved for more than a decade. “They are based on the fact that first and foremost every president takes care of interests of its own country, including interests of the Union State [of Belarus and Russia]. And every time they reaffirm their political will to further develop the Union State. And they do a great deal for the sake of it,” the Russian president’s press secretary said.
“They also have genuine strong man-to-man friendship based on that,” Dmitry Peskov added.
