Six medals for Belarus at Track Cycling Grand Prix of Omsk

MINSK, 18 September (BelTA) – Russia’s Omsk is hosting the international track cycling competitions Grand Prix of Omsk and the Commonwealth Cup of Siberian Regions and the Republic of Belarus, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Sport and Tourism Ministry.
The Grand Prix of Omsk first competition day features medal events in scratch, 200-meter race and elimination race. In scratch, Belarusian cyclists won one gold, two silver and three bronze medals. Dzianis Mazur and Vadzim Adzinets showed the second and third best times in the men’s events respectively. Alina Karotkina took bronze in the women’s event. Adelina Sakun clinched gold in the U18 event, Dziyana Laveika finished second. Artsiom Barushkou was third in the juniors event.
On 19 September the Grand Prix of Omsk will feature sprint and points races. The Commonwealth Cup of the Siberian Regions and the Republic of Belarus will be held on 20 September. The program will comprise keirin and madison.
