PARIS, 1 August (BelTA — Yonhap) — After helping their respective
men’s and women’s teams to gold medals in archery at the Paris Olympics,
Kim Woo-jin and Lim Si-hyeon will join forces for the mixed team event
in the French capital Friday.
Kim and Lim, by virtue of being the
top South Koreans in the men’s and women’s ranking rounds last
Thursday, will represent the archery powerhouse. They were also the best
performers overall in their ranking rounds, with Lim setting the world
record with 694 points out of a possible 720.
They will be the No. 1 seed in the 16-team tournament. They will face Chinese Taipei in the first knockout match at Invalides.
The
mixed team event was added to the Olympics for the first time in Tokyo
in 2021. An San and Kim Je-deok of South Korea won the inaugural gold
medal.
