Belarus calls for conditions to enable lasting peace in Middle East

MINSK, 18 January (BelTA) – On the sidelines of the 19th summit of the Non-Aligned Movement in Uganda Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik took part in a ministerial meeting of the Group of Friends in Defense of the UN Charter, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.

The situation in Palestine was the key item on the agenda. Sergei Aleinik stressed Belarus’ principled stance on the need to cease fire as soon as possible and enable basic conditions for providing humanitarian aid and building lasting peace in the Middle East.

Sergei Aleinik held a number of bilateral meetings during the summit.
