MOSCOW, 22 December (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia have signed an agreement on prospectuses for securities. The document was signed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Dmitry Krutoi, who is vested with the authority of a deputy prime minister, and Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk as a result of the session of the High-Level Group of the Council of Ministers of the Union State of Belarus and Russia in Moscow on 22 December, BelTA has learned.

Commenting on the agreement, Dmitry Krutoi said: “It is a very important document. It was born within the framework of our Union State program on unifying the financial markets of the two countries. I hope it will serve as a very good stepping stone towards creating the common market of securities of the Union State of Belarus and Russia.”

In his words, the parties will be able to use this tool to step up volumes of mutual investments and expand interaction on the stock market.

The agreement enables the recognition of prospectuses for securities, which are registered by one party to the agreement, for the sake of floating and/or turnover of these securities in the territory of the other signatory state.
