Manufacturing sector, food trade, healthcare identified as promising avenues of Belarus-Egypt cooperation

CAIRO, 30 April (BelTA) – Belarus and Egypt have significant reserves for advancing cooperation in manufacturing sector. Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko made the statement during an expanded-participation meeting with Prime Minister of Egypt Mostafa Madbouly, BelTA has learned.

Roman Golovchenko said: “We see significant reserves for advancing cooperation in manufacturing sector. It is one of the key advantages of Belarus. An overwhelming majority of industrial goods, which are made in our country, is exported to foreign markets, including to the Arab Republic of Egypt. Shipment volumes could be much larger. We are primarily interested in developing manufacturing cooperation projects in Egypt in order to jointly make passenger vehicles, trucks, agricultural machines, and municipal vehicles.”

The prime minister remarked that Belarus is also interested in selling more food to Egypt: “You have a huge market. The Egyptian population grows at a very fast pace. And we are ready to make a contribution to ensuring food security.” Roman Golovchenko also mentioned the readiness to implement projects that envisage the production of dairy products out of Belarusian milk powder in Egypt.

Speaking about cooperation in humanitarian affairs, Roman Golovchenko suggested continuing the practice of offering recreation opportunities to Egyptian kids in Belarus.
