Belarus, India ready to continue working together

MINSK, 28 December (BelTA) – Belarus and India have confirmed readiness to continue working together to give an additional impulse to the entire range of Belarus-India relations. The relevant statement was made as Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Belarus Alok Ranjan Jha, the ministry’s press service told BelTA.

Sergei Aleinik and Alok Ranjan Jha summed up results of Belarus-India cooperation in 2023 in politics, trade, economy, and humanitarian affairs. Positive dynamics of bilateral trade was noted. Plans for 2024 were discussed.

Practical steps were sketched out to step up Belarus-India relations, including the exchange of visits at various levels, the organization of ministerial consultations, sessions of domain-specific commissions, and working groups.

The diplomats also looked into matters concerning Belarus-India interaction in international formats, including within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and BRICS.

Mutual readiness was reaffirmed for further joint work in order to give an additional impulse to the entire range of Belarus-India relations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs concluded.
